I tend to be the type of person who, when she is comfortable with any given “to-do”, rolls up her sleeves, works hard, and gets the job done. This said, one thing our faithful God has been working into my life for many years now is the blessing of waiting. Elizabeth’s flesh is just like the next person’s – where it likes things sooner-rather-than-later; but, Jesus knows that being free to wait for His perfect timing is one of His good and perfect gifts for Elizabeth (as every other child of God). Waiting, like all other divine gifts, is a “gift that keeps on giving.” We will never tap out God’s bottomless grace this side of heaven, will we?

John 1:16 (ESV) “For from His fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.”

Doing all the things that must be done to get ITMM up and running these past few months has been a good thing for my faith on multiple fronts; one of them, being the need to trust Jesus for His perfect timing. I’ve had to be patient with myself (which equates to waiting) on the steep “nonprofit learning curve” I’ve been on. And, as I relax and allow my tech-challenged self the time to learn, I can actually enjoy the journey. Am I perfect at this? Not even close! BUT I am blessed to be knowing Jesus’ help in my day-to-day neediness for patience. (Attn: Step 2*)

Starting up the nonprofit has also afforded plenty of opportunities to exercise my patience “faith muscles” with delays that are completely outside of myself. It has been good to re-center myself on the reality that, as I continue to drink in Jesus’ grace in the waiting, a solid foundation is being laid for the ministry ahead.

Wrapping up here, I want to thank you for your prayers on my behalf. Please know that this post comes with a boomerang-prayer of blessing right back at you as I know that you are waiting on God for something, as well.

* A.A. Step 2 says, “Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.”
